Properties and mechanism of action


The coumarins of African geranium root are viewed as mainly responsible for the plant’s antimicrobial properties.3,4 African geranium root has also been shown to improve human nasal ciliary function in vitro in a dose dependent manner and is considered to aid with clearance of mucus.5,6*

The extract of African geranium root has been the subject of randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials, where it was shown to support the respiratory system, in addition to supporting the adaptive immune system.7,8*
