Remind parents of these safe, simple ways to keep their baby comfortable when they have a cough associated with hoarseness, dry throat and irritants*:

  • Sleep is important for a healthy immune system and can help support your baby’s overall well-being. If coughing is keeping your baby up, try clearing out mucus with a bulb syringe before naps and at bedtime to ease breathing
  • If your baby is eating less at each feeding, breastfeed or formula-feed more often to prevent dehydration
  • Give plenty of water or unsweetened juice to older babies to help keep throat and nasal passages moisturized and clear
  • Use a cool-mist humidifier in the nursery; change the water daily to keep bacteria at bay
  • You can also run a hot shower until the air is steamy, and sit with your baby for 10 to 15 minutes—breathing in the warm, moist air can help clear nasal pathways. Do this before bedtime to help your baby fall asleep
  • Try using Zarbee’s® Soothing Saline Nasal Mist with Aloe to moisten nasal passages and help keep them clean and clear
  • For babies 2 months and older, try Zarbee’s® Baby Chest Rub which contains eucalyptus, which has been studied for its calming and moisturizing properties1
  • For babies 6 to 12 months, with the supervision of a doctor, try Zarbee’s® Baby Cough Syrup + Immune with agave, which can safely soothe coughs associated with hoarseness, dry throat, and irritants, plus zinc for immune support*
  • For babies 12 months and older, try a Zarbee’s® age-specific cough syrup that contains dark honey, which is shown to soothe coughs associated with hoarseness, dry throat, and irritants2*
